The conference hotel is The Langham, Boston (617-451-1992). The room rate is no longer guaranteed.   If you call to make reservations please use discount group code - APA030211.  Currently, the room rate is $240.00 per night for March 2-3 and $149.00 per night for March 4-5.   Conference attendees will receive complimentary internet access and gym access. Discounted rates at hotel spa.

CE Credits and CE Fees

The continuing educational aspects of the programs offered at the 5th  National APAHC Conference are being cosponsored by APAHC and the Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The EVMS Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The EVMS Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences maintains responsibility for this program and its content.  Partial credit of individual sessions is not available. CE certificates for attended activities will be e-mailed to all participants who pay the CE fee no later than 2 weeks following the conference. CE fees are non-refundable.

The APAHC Conference provides poster presentation opportunities for faculty and students who would like to showcase their research, distinctive clinical interventions, training programs in Academic Health Center settings, or present on other topics in keeping with the conference’s broad scope. The conference Poster Committee, Gerald Leventhal (chair) and Laura Shaffer are reviewing abstracts and will contact you upon acceptance.

Early Career Boot Camp now closed!

The Early Career Boot Camp is designed for post-doctoral fellows and early career psychologists (2-5 years post graduation) working in academic health centers. The camp will consist of several brief presentations followed by break-out groups /working sessions. General topics to be covered include: professional effectiveness (i.e. applying for jobs, cover letters, giving great talks); developing clinical supervision skills; launching a successful research program; and strategic career planning (i.e. mentors, goal setting, CV). Lunch will be provided.
